Crime branch files indictment against tour operator for providing fake Hajj visa to couple


Crime Branch Kashmir has filed an indictment against the owner of M/S Kaba Tour and Travels for deceiving a couple intending to perform the Hajj pilgrimage by providing them with false visas and other invalid documents in 2016.

The Criminal Branch had registered a case (FIR No: 17 of 2018) under Section 420 PRC of the Criminal Branch of Kashmir Police Station and produced the indictment in the Deputy Judge Court Pattan against the owner of M/S Kaba Tour and Travels, Hamidullah. Mir of Pattan Baramulla, a CBK official said.

He said that Crime Branch Kashmir had received a complaint from a certain Ghulam Rasool Khanday of Pattan Bala, stating that he and his wife intended to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage and for this purpose contacted Hamidullah Mir, the accessory of M/S Kaba Tour and Travels, and paid him an amount of Rs 3.80 lakhs for arranging visas, air tickets and accommodation at Harmain Sharief (KSA) and other related facilities for them.

“The accused provided them with a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage and as a result they proceeded with the pilgrimage on 16.9.2016, but were arrested at Delhi airport and did not proceed. been allowed to continue on the grounds that their visas are invalid and not intended for Hajj/Umrah,” the official told GNS.

These passports and visas were checked and confirmed, which turned out to be false and bogus, the official said.

“On this charge, the case with FIR No: 17/2018 U/s 420 RPC has been registered at Kashmir Police Station and investigation has been initiated,” he said, adding “The allegations were established during the investigation against the defendant and it was also established that the defendant deceived other Hajj seekers from the Pattan area.

The official said that the offense under Article 420 PRC has been proven against the accused Hamidullah Mir and hence the indictment has been filed in the court of Deputy Judge Pattan. (GNS)
