NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — The friends and colleagues of legendary tour manager Dave Burton have launched a fundraiser to help him after he suffered a massive stroke while working in Louisville, KY last month.

Alongside the GoFundMe campaign, the indie rock band The steady hold announced that they will donate all proceeds from Bandcamp purchases to Burton’s recovery resources, including two just-released live recordings, Live in Toronto 5-4-22 and Live in Nashville 6-3-22, both available now as a digital download Name Your Price.
“Dave Burton is loved by members of The Hold Steady but also by the THS community for being an amazing tour manager and an even better person. It improves our lives in a million ways and has friends in every place we visit. We are heartbroken that Dave had this setback
and hope for the full recovery of our amazing friend and comrade,” said Craig Finn of The Hold Steady.
Additional fundraising initiatives to help Burton return to a semblance of normal life as quickly as possible will be announced in the coming weeks.
“David Burton. Great dad, movie buff (he’d probably hate that term), foodie (pretty sure he’d hate that one too), excellent writer (his recent track for the revamped Creem is on my musical writing favorites all year), Rocker, par excellence. A man for all seasons. He is also one of the best Tour Managers to have taken on this horribly hard and thankless job. His prognosis is very good, but the road will be long and difficult to get there and will require far more resources than any Tour Manager (even one of the best in the world) We all ask anyone to do whatever they can to help David get back on track so he can continue to be so brilliant at the many things he does so well.
He’s grumpy, but we love him. Absolutely,” added Patterson Hood of Drive-By Trucker.
