Cortez – who landed at No.6 on our top Latin artist chart at the end of the year 2021, mainly thanks to the strong presence of ‘Dakiti’, with Bad Bunny, who topped the list for 27 weeks – recently spoke at Billboard on his unlikely collaboration with Ivan Cornejo. The pair teamed up for a remix of Cornejo’s viral sierreño press “Está Dañada”.

“I had heard the song before, a lot of people were telling me about it,” Cortez said previously. “Mia [Khalifa, significant other] is also a big fan of it. When my manager told me about the possibility of doing the remix, I really liked the idea. I love the vibe of the song – it’s the type of music that I love, and being a part of it was awesome. It’s a really special song.
